01 — THE FILM

“A Beautiful Sight” is a heartwarming two-minute-long animated film that depicts the journey of a mother and son through several decades. The story is primarily told from the son's perspective, showcasing his development from infancy to his professional career, with his mother as the central figure. The film aims to honor and appreciate the love and support of all mothers, and we are thrilled to bring this relatable story to life through our unique craft and style!

02 — THE STORY

“In this first-person narrative, the mother is portrayed as the hero, present for all the critical milestones in the newborn's development. The wardrobe and environments reflect the 1980s, and the textures are very tactile, adding extra warmth to these initial shots.”

“As he takes his first step, a child's imagination takes over and we experience a bit of his whimsical feeling! We are taken on a flight through the moment directly into space, a symbol of exploration and freedom just achieved.”

“The first step leads to the first bike, and his perception of the world expands as he develops.”

“Eventually, time creates temporary separations, and going to college is the first one. Mom hands a loving photo to take with him.”

“The film concludes with his revelation. After following the entire story from his point of view, we experience the other side. He is a doctor capable of helping her, and now he gives back. It is touching to feel this warm hug up close.”

03 — BEHIND THE SCENES

CHARACTERS

The film is told from the unique perspective of a person growing up with his mother playing a significant role in his journey. The film had challenges as it spans different periods, showing the protagonist aging.

We start producing concept art for her appearance and studying specific fashion trends of each period.

TEXTURE & RENDER

Since the story is mostly told from a "point of view" style, the character of Mom is always very close to the camera. Therefore, it was important to maintain a high level of detail in her facial and body features, and her hair had to convey different styles reflecting different periodic trends.

ROOF is known for its high level of detail. Here we can highlight the tactile quality of textures on her clothes to give a more human, "imperfect" almost fabricated touch.

ENVIRONMENTS

Since we jump through time depicting different milestones in her son's development, each environment was meticulously researched and executed, not limiting itself to reality. Still, since CGI allows us to art-direct each element with a great level of depth, these environments are vibrant in color, accurate to their periods, and designed to make you wish to visit them or simply to revive a nostalgic, loving memory of your past.
