Area 23 approached us with a unique concept that would be an homage to the golden years of traditional animation.
The goal was to increase the awareness of a disease with a common symptom that scares people away but is actually non-infectious and important to diagnose. We loved the challenge immediately especially considering that this style was an inspiration to us all of us and that unfortunately is no longer that popular.
We were thrilled to imagine ourselves, even if just for a second, in another era doing what we do best!
The only way to make this film was to approach it as they would have in the good old days. We sketched out all the scenes and worked toward the organic aesthetic that would make our characters feel as real as they do. It took a huge team to work on this and our other film for the same client at the same time.
We couldn’t be more proud of this heart warming piece that reminds us of the birth of hand drawn animation. It is with great pleasure that we share some behind the scenes of our talented traditional animators who were actually alive during that golden age.
